Single Parents Can’t Raise Good Kids

“I think that we’ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don’t believe in gay adoption.” This is a recent quote from John McCain on an issue he has been facing a bit of criticism for lately.  He has had to clarify his stance in the face of angry gay rights groups, and says that the adoption of a child by a gay couple, while he doesn’t believe it should be allowed, should ultimately be decided at the state level and not the federal level.  What does this say to me?  Hey single parents, you can’t raise your kid!  Sorry folks, but if you don’t have a male and female person raising children, they’re just going to come out a bunch of fudge packing, pot smoking losers.  We’ve apparently proven that you have to have both male and female parents in the household.  There’s just no way around it.  If this is the case, like McCain has let us know (He’s proven it...you know, with science and stuff), then rightfully we need to rescue all children who are being ruined by single parent households as well as keeping them out of gay households.  We need to immediately put them into the foster system, or up for adoption.  You know, after we change the laws that allow single people to be foster parents or adopt.

Really though, in all seriousness, the idea that two men or two women can’t raise a child as well as one of each is ridiculous, and suggesting that not having both parents makes it impossible to correctly raise a child is an insult to all the hard working single parents out there.  Way to be an ass, McCain.  Way to be an ass...again.
